On This Day…
Well, what a great day yesterday at Wimbledon. I have no idea what it is but it really is a special place and whilst there was talk yesterday of doing some of the men’s draw next year i really am not sure it would be better with faster serves and no rallies. There are occasions in the women’s game when first serves are registering 120 mph, normally from the racket of one of the William’s sisters, and that was true of yesterday to. It really is archetypally British. Even the programme for the day is headed The Lawn Tennis Championships – Upon the Lawns of the All English Lawn Tennis Club. Notice, ‘The’ Lawn Tennis Championships. That’s a bit like ‘The’ Open Golf Championship. How absolutely snobby and superb

As usual the tennis was great and the company good too, so I would be jumping to accept if offered next year too.
Obviously with my hectic day yesterday, very little got done but there is a weekend coming up so I hope to be finishing the trim indoors, maybe have a bonfire and perhaps cut the grass. A lot will depend on the weather though which is certainly not set fair today with rain forecast to be sweeping in from the west. Oh dear.

Just a shame there is a work day after yesterday!
