On This Day…
Well, the weekend took for ever to get here and then it was over. oh why can’t it be Friday again!
Have a ton of stuff to cram into the next three days before we disappear for a mixture of work and holiday for two weeks.
Managed to get a fair amount of ivy and brambles off the wall between the walled garden and the tennis court and that wall is now almost done. It seemed to take for ever on Saturday and Sunday and although it was definitely ‘sunny intervals’ it was still pretty hot and draining. I certainly was dead when it got to sitting down last night. That may have been added to by tennis exertions with Sean and Stuart which was a welcome diversion and the first time I have been on the court in earnest this year.
Got the sight test done on Saturday morning, although as I had the wrong contact lenses with me, that part had to be scrapped and has been re-booked for 21st august. Strangely the prescription for short-sightedness has come back dramatically. My left eye used to be –1.5 but is now –.75. If it carries on like this I will not need glasses for distance work but will probably need them for reading. It was really strange when the optician suggested as I was struggling to wear contact lenses as it just meant I had to wear reading glasses for close up work with them in, that I wear just one and use that eye for distance and the other for close up… I’ve been doing that for months! Apparently it’s called ‘mono-vision’?
On this day in history and last year…
