On This Day…
Great, getting back to work today and the CBI comes out and says the ‘recession’ is likely to be longer and tougher than at first thought, yippee, that should be good for sales.
On a positive note, had a good day yesterday, it was fun with Murray and Sally, it’s also nice to see how kids are at Charley and Will’s age, they bicker far more (not than my kids, just at that age) and have a very big aversion to doing anything their parents say. An example of that was however much we advised them that the walk was very deep in mud and they had brought their wellies, they refused to wear them! It’s not like anyone from their school or anything would see them, they were 70 miles from home! Funny.
Forgot to mention the police actually rang Saturday, chasing up on the sighting of ‘our’ criminal. This is the first time they have called me (except the Inspector to apologise…wasn’t that a film? The Inspector Calls?), trouble was the crime was in progress on Thursday not Saturday. No colds in the Hampshire police then…too slow to catch one! It also seemed that despite a multi-page statement I was having to reiterate everything to them… ah well.
BA starts it’s long-awaited move to T5 at Heathrow today ahead of it’s first flight on Thursday. The boss said to put up the closed sign was not an option, so, in the middle of the night they will pick up dozens of aircraft, hundreds of trucks, cars, vans, etc and move. One runway will be closed during this operation.
