On This Day…
6:30am and just slumped down into my chair to write this. It’s strange how week’s go and how you feel during it. I was pretty upbeat at the start of the week, but walking to and from stations yesterday I realised that my standard workweek from home to home is 60 hours and desk to desk 50. It also today seems an eternity until we get to take our Holiday, although, of course, we are very late this year to fit in the best weather in India.
Anyhow, enough of my whinging, just have to get on with it, I’m sure it’ll pass.
Andy Murray has a meeting with Raphael Nadal today at Wimbledon and in normal fashion, we are building ‘our man’ up, so he is bound sure to fail. Nadal after all is the 2nd seed. It would be nice to see a British player win it just to get that particular ‘monkey off our back’, but I really don’t think it will be the case this year.
Joey Barton skipped an extension to his all too short jail sentence and Newcastle are set to have talks with him on release. I can tell you already that they are not about to do what they should and just sack him. They will at best put him on the transfer list to cash in on their ‘asset’ but, more likely he will return to his £50,000 a week job, no worse off for the experience where categorically his many victims are, as this video shows.
There is a push here in the UK to get people to emigrate to Canada. I’m going to think about it very seriously, as like me, they are completely mad! Eh, Debra, Deanne, Ken? It appears in is mainly Alberta where we are wanted, which is probably great for a few months and then a frozen waste for the rest of the year. Don’t show that in the commercials.
Emma seems to have recovered from the dreaded sickness bug, enough to go to college and take another driving lesson. Not that we’d know necessarily as she has gone back to her bedroom hibernation but no news is good news.
Lindsay seems to have done well in her first year exams and can move on without having to take more in August. I’m sure she’ll correct me but she got a 2:1 in criminal law and a first in civil??? Lindsay?
Reading last year’s entry, I have missed Dick Kusleika’s birthday by 6 days again. Maybe I’ll remember next year when he’s 40!
On this day in history and last year…

Oh, we’re filled to capacity here in Ontario, so I guess that’s why they’re trying to entice people to move west.
Alberta is lovely though, with balmy weather year-round. As long as you stay indoors. You could probably sell lots of heater there!
But if you need someone to sign your application, let me know.
