On This Day…
Jo arrived at her initial destination safely, although a little late. I had tried to call her a number of times but she is useless with one phone, why should it be any different with two? Anyhow, i did eventually get to speak with her at about 11pm UK time, just as I was sitting down to watch a little TV
After quite a number of weeks semi-inactivity, the house has taken on a new urgency with the plasterers who are to do all the patching, the last remaining walls and the ceilings in the games room and annexe are now coming with a team of three on Saturday and Sunday of this week! Whether they will get it all done, or not is to be seen, but providing they can get all the ‘main house’ stuff done then Andy is in a position to give us a couple of weeks work on the decoration front. Maybe, just maybe, we will sit down to Christmas lunch with the house decorated and carpeting upstairs. Still not sure about my nemesis, the wood flooring, but we will see.
In preparation last night I spent the evening taking down the built-in cupboards in the fifth bedroom and will be getting those on EBay soon to try and get a few bob for them as I am sure they will suit someone, are in good condition and actually reasonable quality. It’s surprising how much room everything takes up when you empty 3 wardrobes, 6 drawers and quite a few cupboards. Let alone the units themselves. I now have a games room pretty bursting with stuff!
Off to watch Saints play Wycombe Wanderers tonight. It is yet another chance after the ten point deduction to get out of the relegation zone, as we had against Brighton. Let’s hope we don’t blow this one!
On this day in history and last year…
